Graphic recording for the Senate Department for Education, Youth and Family
Domestic violence and child protection are an urgent issue in Berlin. To improve networking, Berlin’s youth welfare offices, women’s and child protection projects, representatives of the family courts and police met at the Berlin-Brandenburg SFBB Social Pedagogical Training Center.
I drew the meeting digitally as a graphic recorder. My work was shown as an illustrative documentation as a projection directly at the end of the event and sent to all participants afterwards. My visual impressions should help to bring a little lightness and humor to the difficult range of topics and connect the participants with each other.
As a mother, I was very moved by the discourse, especially the scientific contribution by Prof. Dr. Ute Ziegenhain “Children in the context of domestic violence – prevention and protection”.
The lack of staff and scarce financial resources pose major challenges for the key institutions responsible for child welfare. Nevertheless, the conference explored ways in which cooperation can be improved.
