Where can I quickly find trustworthy sources of information? With Wikipedia! I use it every day for my research as an illustrator! Wikipedia is one of the ten most visited websites in the world. It was a great honor for me to accompany the Wikipedia Future Congress 2024 live through graphic recording.
LLMs like Chat GPT also love Wikipedia – carefully edited human knowledge in compressed form – free of charge! How will Wikipedia position itself in this respect in the near future? How do we deal with disinformation in the attention economy?
An absolutely interesting and intensive discourse took place for 3 days in Nuremberg. The hybrid event was attended by “Wikipedians” on site as well as online guests. The keynotes by Richard Socher, Daniel Sigge, Chris Tedjasukmana and Dr. Theresa Züger provided an insightful and stimulating basis for discussion, which was continued in exciting panels. I had a comfortable spot to the left of the stage from where I could follow and visualize all the discussions.
